Members of this group work on both the theoretical and the applied aspects of design computation and digital media in architectural design. On the theoretical side, we research in the fields of shape grammar, parametric designing, virtual & mixed realities and design communication of digital architectures. Our research explores spans from design processes, design learning to historical analysis. Towards the applied end, we work on computation fluid dynamics, airflow and meteorological simulation, thermal environment, day lighting, urban noise, landscape ecology, spatial activity, digital fabrication, architectural parametric design and form generation using a variety of computational methods.
